About Russell

Russell first came to the Solomon Islands in August 1968 to work in the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in Honiara.

He has been obsessed with chicken or kokorako keeping all his life and now takes great pleasure in passing on his lifetime of skills to village people so they can improve their kokorako keeping skills.

This improves the peoples’ diet with the increased amount of eggs and chicken produced and provides small cash incomes from the sale of any surplus.

At the same time by eating chicken meat and eggs traditional food sources like wildlife are protected.
