On April 2 2007 an earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale hit the western areas of the Solomon Islands. There was extensive damage from the earthquake and following Tsunami and over 50 people died or are missing. Homes were destroyed and food gardens were lost in landslides or the tsunami wave.
Chickens for Disaster Relief
A relief effort is being planned to provide a small flock of village chickens to each community or household affected by the April 2 2007 Tsunami/earthquake.
